Megan Benz
Megan is currently a first-year graduate student and a teaching assistant for Drugs and the Brain, an undergraduate course taught by Dr. Cynthia Kuhn. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane University, graduating in 2022 with a B.S. in Neuroscience. She remained in New Orleans for two years afterward, working as a lab technician in a breast cancer research lab at the Tulane University School of Medicine. It was during this time that she discovered her deep passion for research—particularly cancer research—which ultimately led her to pursue a Ph.D. in Molecular Cancer Biology at Duke University.
Outside the lab, Megan enjoys being a homebody and exploring creative outlets like crocheting, knitting, and drawing. She also loves discovering new music, diving into true crime, watching TikTok brain rot, and indulging in her favorite form of online shopping: adding things to her cart and never buying them. When she’s not doing any of the above, she’s probably falling down a research rabbit hole sparked by her own curiosity.
