Julia Louw

Rotating Graduate (PhD) Student

Julia is a PhD student in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CBB) program at Duke. She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from UNC Chapel Hill and an M.S. in Computational Biology from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Her research interests lie in translational computational approaches to advance precision oncology and uncover mechanisms of therapeutic resistance. During her rotation, she will analyze circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) datasets to investigate copy number alterations in glioblastoma patients and leverage Visium spatial transcriptomics data to study gene expression within the tumor microenvironment. Outside the lab, Julia enjoys running, playing the piano, and attending concerts.
