Elise Nackley

Elise graduated from Duke in 2026 with a major in Computer Science and Bioinformatics. She began working in the lab as an undergraduate and has continued after graduation, focusing on modeling tumor–immune interactions in cancer immunotherapy. Her work uses mathematical models based on predator–prey dynamics and ordinary differential equations to simulate how tumors and the immune system respond to treatment, integrating clinical trial data to refine and test these models. Initially developed in melanoma, this framework is now being adapted to study immune responses in glioblastoma. Outside the lab, she enjoys spending time with her two bunnies and going shopping with her mom.
